Summoned to the Police Station
I was "summoned" to an area police station here in Hungary last night at 10 pm. They let me leave in time to arrive home at 1:00 am. OK, actually I was "asked" to be an official translator for an interrogation they were conducting with a foreign criminal suspect who claimed to speak English. As it turned out, his ability in English was very poor, but it seems that he understood the main issues he was being charged with. I'm still not sure how my name ended up on the "translators to call" list, but I'm taking it as "divinely appointed". I had a great conversation with the police major conducting the interview. As it turns out, he lives fairly close to us and I plan to meet with him periodically for some English language practice. This is the way ministry happens in Hungary today. Single relationships established here and there. Thanks for praying!
